On 23 July, the Auckland Regional Migrant Services (ARMS) and the MakerHood team ran the first ever repair and upcycling workshop for the Mangere community.

Māngere Makers Day brought the community and local volunteers together to fix broken household items and learn new skills. It was a day to minimise waste by upcycling old materials and turning them into something new and repairing items that would otherwise be thrown to the landfill.

#makerhood collaborated with Auckland Regional Migrant Services (ARMS) to produce the Māngere makers Day. In spite of rough weather there was plenty of interest, and certainly plenty of fun!
